Top: Necessary Clothing
Skirt: Necessary Clothing
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell from Nasty Gal (sold out)
I fell in LOVE with this colorful organza set while shopping around Soho in NYC. One of my close friends came to visit me from Ghana and we went on a little shopping trip in Soho. I do not miss living in Mahattan yet, but I do miss all the different retail seductions :D…. I saw this set on the window display of Necessary Clothing. There was a blue and white option which I was originally attracted to. It resembled blue and white porcelain and would have looked splendid with some Ruby Woo!
I actually paid for the blue and white option, walked out onto Broadway and Howard and saw two other girls with their friends adoring the blue set.
On one hand that was great validation that other people also thought this set was beautiful but the little rebel in me had to go back and choose the peachy/orange colorway that no girl was touching – I actually didn’t wear it once when I lived in Mahattan.
The moment I got to Ghana it became an instant favorite. I’ve only been in Ghana 3 weeks and I’ve rocked this outfit 3 times…I am a shameless outfit repeater! (I mix and match it with other clothing items)
p.s. If you’re wondering about the natural hair watch this YouTube Teyonah Parris inspired clip – That’s where I got the idea.

I’ve experienced so many success as well as failures and new beginnings. I finally feel like I’m living my life because I AM making the choices. This blog is one of many new things. I wanted a platform to share my style, inspire creativity and be inspired by others I come across on this new journey.
Before we usher in the new year it is only right that I do a New Year’s Eve inspired outfit post.
On New Year’s Eve my #1 rule is always – DITCH THE SEQUIN DRESS. This gold Tuxedo dress was part of Rihanna’s 2013 Winter collaboration with River Island. I was surprised Rihanna never wore it herself (she seems to love tuxedo dresses). I was even more surprised I did not see other prominent bloggers wear it. So fast forward one year later – I was invited to a Bachlorette white and gold party in Ghana and I needed to wear gold because I knew everyone would wear white. I looked around Ebay and scored this amazing number for a cool £100 ($155.21).
I would definitely wear this for NYE festivities. It’s soo different. The chances of other girls wearing a tuxedo dress on NYE are slim – The chances of them wearing a GOLD tuxedo dress are slim to none.
So Fab, So Masculine, So effortlessly cool and Soo Sexyy. Try Something Risky!
